Researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), have developed a new kind of 3D TV display for 3D+2D television that allows viewers with 3D glasses to see 3D images, while viewers can see a normal two-dimensional image without wearing the glasses.

Associate Professor James Davis, along with graduates Steven Scher, Jing Liu, Rajan Vaish, and Prabath Gunawardane of computer science in the Baskin School of Engineering at UC Santa Cruz developed this new technique.
