BBM one of the most valuable and popular service of BlackBerry phones is now going to be able on iOS and Android devices from this weekend. In a statement issued by, BlackBerry stated that it plans to make available free BBM for Android phones starting from Saturday, 21st September and for iPhones on Sunday, 22nd September.

Well, BlackBerry is not giving all the features of BBM on  other devices. BBM for Android and iOS will miss voice and video calling features from the original BBM. Rest features like BBM chat, group chat, sharing files and unique BBM PIN will be available in the BBM for iOS and Android.

The voice and video calling features that BlackBerry is not giving could be the reason for it's failure in the mobile messaging market. With already popular mobile messaging apps like WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat and LINE, it will be difficult for BBM to succeed without these two features. But BBM Executive Vice President Andrew Bocking is more optimistic about their BBM. Andrew Bocking, EVP for BBM at BlackBerry said, "With more than a billion Android, iOS and Blackberry smartphones in the market, and no dominant mobile messaging platform, this is absolutely the right time to bring BBM to Android and iPhone customers."

Well the success of BBM on Android and iOS devices can only be judged in future, where it have to compete with apps like WhatsApp, Viber, WeChat and LINE.

Facebook's Pop-Out Floating Video in News Feed for Desktop Users

Looks like Facebook is again testing the feature for Pop-Out video that floats in the news feed while scrolling news feed up and down. Facebook first tested the same feature in 2015 but was not made available for all desktop users. As of know it still seems to be in testing phase as I am not able to see this feature in the same MacBook for different browsers. Like I am able to watch the pop-out and scrolling video in Firefox browser but the same is not working in Chrome browser. The floating video option is made available through 2 options. One is a Video Pop-Out button in the current played video. You have to click on that blue pop-out button to get video moved to left hand side of the news feed.
