Bangalore based technology company Connovate Technology Pvt. Ltd. has invented a tiny tag device measuring just 36 mm diameter and 4.9 mm thick. The device is named Gecko and Gecko Tags.
Gecko project is launched on Indiegogo portraying to make your smartphone smarter. Gecko is coming with a TI CC2541 SoC, removable coin cell battery which according to it's developer company can last 1.5 years with normal usage. It also has inbuilt LED and Buzzer that could alert in noisy environment too.
Gecko has got a lot of online coverage through technology sites like TechCrunch and Mashable. One of the big name to support Gecko, a Bluetooth-enabled device, is Stephen Gary "Steve" Wozniak, known as "Woz". Steve Wozniak an American inventor, computer engineer and programmer who co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne. The possiblities of using Gecko device is unlimitted and can be used with it's tag to control and track many more objects just by using Gecko's accelerometer technology to connect to your smartphone via low energy Bluetooth.
What will be the future of Connovate company? Will they be get acquired by some big brand company like that of Flutter which was recently acquired by Google. FlutterApp was too setup by Indian guys but in San Francisco. They too are using Gesture control techonolgy to control media playing on PC via simple webcam while using Netflix, YouTube, GrooveShark, Pandora, VLC and iTunes. With the acquisition by Google the possiblity of using Flutter into Chromebook laptops and Nexus handheld devices has speculated. So, do Connovate's Gecko will get the attention of big brands like Apple, Google or Microsoft, only time will tell.
