Bangalore based technology company Connovate Technology Pvt. Ltd. has invented a tiny tag device measuring just 36 mm diameter and 4.9 mm thick. The device is named Gecko and Gecko Tags.

Gecko project is launched on Indiegogo portraying to make your smartphone smarter. Gecko is coming with a TI CC2541 SoC, removable coin cell battery which according to it's developer company can last 1.5 years with normal usage. It also has inbuilt LED and Buzzer that could alert in noisy environment too.

Gecko has got a lot of online coverage through technology sites like TechCrunch and Mashable. One of the big name to support Gecko, a Bluetooth-enabled device, is Stephen Gary "Steve" Wozniak, known as "Woz". Steve Wozniak an American inventor, computer engineer and programmer who co-founded Apple Computer with Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne. Mashable has termed Gecko as a smartphone's very own Swiss Army knife that can serve as a lost-and-found, a personal photographer, a pet sitter and a home security system.The device works as a tiny wireless remote and can also operate as a motion detector. With this wireless remote you can control your smartphones with gesture, can use it remotely to take  pictures through your smartphone's camera or a DSLR. With this elegant device one can do endless things and control many more items like:

* Track & Find your own smartphone
* Remote Music Control
* Motion Detector to get notified when a door is opened
* Camera Trigger to take image remotely
* Smart Leash to track you Pets
* Pillbox reminder to remind when your loved one forget to take pills

The possiblities of using Gecko device is unlimitted and can be used with it's tag to control and track many more objects just by using Gecko's accelerometer technology to connect to your smartphone via low energy Bluetooth.

What will be the future of Connovate company? Will they be get acquired by some big brand company like that of Flutter which was recently acquired by Google. FlutterApp was too setup by Indian guys but in San Francisco. They too are using Gesture control techonolgy to control media playing on PC via simple webcam while using Netflix, YouTube, GrooveShark, Pandora, VLC and iTunes. With the acquisition by Google the possiblity of using Flutter into Chromebook laptops and Nexus handheld devices has speculated. So, do Connovate's Gecko will get the attention of big brands like Apple, Google or Microsoft, only time will tell.

Airtel V-Fiber Broadband Plans Now Offers 100 Mbps Speed Over Huawei HG630a

Today I got upgraded to the Airtel’s new broadband connection - ‘V-Fiber’ broadband based on Vectorization. The V-Fiber broadband offers speed upto 100 Mbps. As an existing Airtel broadband users I didn’t have to pay any extra. But there is a catch here. I have to purchase the new Huawei HG630a modem for Rs. 1000. There is an option of paying Rs. 1000 in a single go or Rs. 200 for 5 months. I was given the plan not listed on the Airtel website for Delhi-NCR. My plan is Rapid New 1199 60GB with 40 Mbps speed and unlimited local and STD calls. Following is the plan listed on Airtel for Delhi-NCR region. The firsttwo  plans are the normal old plans. Third one is the plan I got as an offer and is not listed on the Airtel website for broadband. Rest are the plans that are now listed as the high speed plans under V-fiber broadband. Facebook's Pop-Out Floating Video in News Feed for Desktop Users

Looks like Facebook is again testing the feature for Pop-Out video that floats in the news feed while scrolling news feed up and down. Facebook first tested the same feature in 2015 but was not made available for all desktop users. As of know it still seems to be in testing phase as I am not able to see this feature in the same MacBook for different browsers. Like I am able to watch the pop-out and scrolling video in Firefox browser but the same is not working in Chrome browser. The floating video option is made available through 2 options. One is a Video Pop-Out button in the current played video. You have to click on that blue pop-out button to get video moved to left hand side of the news feed. The pop-out video button is in white color when video is not playing. As the video starts playing it color changes to blue.
